HerkulesGroup's heart project

Renovation of the clubhouse at the Medenbach gun club

Since its foundation in 1973, the Medenbach gun club has developed into a place where not only sport shooters are active, but families and generations come together. Today, the club has around 70 members and offers a wide range of sports, from large and small calibers to target pistols as well as air rifles. In addition, the clubhouse has long since become a central meeting place and is used for club and family celebrations. The Medenbach gun club also shapes village life through numerous social events such as the "Königsschießen", the traditional wild game stew dinner in the clubhouse, and support for other clubs at anniversaries and festivals.

The club is also present at village festivals and offers children and adults the opportunity to test their marksmanship with bow or laser rifle shooting. The proceeds from such activities go to social projects, such as the recent construction of a new playground in Medenbach.

To ensure that this meeting place continues to exist in the future, the club began renovating the clubhouse last year with its own resources and a great deal of commitment. In addition to the complete renovation of the interior, the exterior is also being redesigned.

A new covered wooden bench has already been installed, and plans are currently on their way for the rest of the outdoor area and the purchase of new furniture for the clubhouse. Young and old alike are actively involved, investing their time, craftsmanship, and materials in their clubhouse.

This is exactly where the HerkulesGroup's heart project comes in: our employee Natalie Hampl, who is herself a member of the club's board, submitted the project and, thanks to our support, the renovation work was not only able to proceed as planned, but unexpected additional costs were also covered. “Without the donation, we would not be nearly as far along as we are today,” explains Gerhard Leisegang, the club's first chairman. “The donation came as a surprise, and we were very happy about it. It was a great support, which was a huge benefit in our 50th anniversary year.”

The association places particular emphasis on families and young talent. “We are currently actively seeking to attract young talent,” explains Nadine Lehr, also a member of the association's board. “A family rate model allows parents to become members together with their children. In this way, the next generation is already growing into the association's activities today.”

In addition to promoting young talent and sporting activities, the club also works to protect nature. “Our club members regularly take part in the Clean Landscape campaign. Here, the local clubs in Medenbach collect rubbish from forests, meadows, and roads within our district,” reports Adrian Lehr, the club's second chairman. In addition, all hunters from the Medenbach hunting ground are members of the club, which also means that they are actively involved in forest and wildlife conservation.

We at the HerkulesGroup are delighted to have contributed to ensuring that the gun club remains a place of community and that the people of Medenbach will continue to have a lively center in their village in the future.
